Every week for nine weeks different experts give their personal take on various aspects of Ireland - China relations over the centuries, opening windows of wonder into unexplored worlds. The series includes contributions from well known experts including Richard Barrett CEO of Treasury Holdings, Irish Times journalists Fintan O'Toole and Ruadhán Mac Cormaic, ethnomusicologist at UCD Dr. Hwee-San Tan, Curator of Chinese Art at the Chester Beatty Library Dr. Shane Mc Causland and the Seventh Earl of Rosse of Birr Castle Brendan Parsons.

About the Series

RTÉ's Director General Cathal Goan officially launched 'China and the Irish: Different Stories, Similar Dreams', a new Thomas Davis Lecture series to be broadcast on RTÉ Radio 1 from Monday, 9 June at a reception yesterday evening(27th May) in the Chester Beatty Library at Dublin Castle. His Excellency Mr. Liu Biwei, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, also spoke at the launch.
