The Book on One is a celebration of writing from all over the world, with five 15-minute excerpts from a single book broadcast each week.

CURRENT SERIES

9 to 13 January

'An Attack of Hunger', a short story from 'The Springs of Affection' by Maeve Brennan, read by Caitríona Ní Mhurchú, broadcast to mark the centenary of the author's birth this month.

A lonely married woman is bereft after her son leaves home to become a priest.

'The Springs of Affection' is published by The Stinging Fly Press.
