Tonight, another chance to hear our programme with Kaleidoscope: A Night of Music. Cellist Kate Ellis and violinist Clíodhna Ryan curate and perform in an eclectic mix of baroque, modern and experimental music, including a recent composition by Linda Buckley, and special guest Gavin Friday's rendition of Shakespeare's Sonnet 40.
Full line-up: a selection of baroque music: Recercada Primera, Recercada Segunda, by Diego Ortiz and Faronell's Ground from the Division Flute, performed by Laoise O'Brien on recorder, Malachy Robinson on violone, Eamonn Sweeney on guitar and Francesco Turrisi on percussion;
Jump, by Linda Buckley, performed by Linda Buckley (voice) and Kate Ellis on cello;
La Muerte del Angel, Oblivion and Libertango by Astor Piazzolla, performed by Clíodhna Ryan and Anita Vedres on violin, Malachy Robinson on double bass, Kenneth Rice on viola, and Dermot Dunne on accordion;
Sonnet 40 by Shakespeare, set to music by Gavin Bryers and Gavin Friday, performed by Gavin Friday with Kate Ellis on cello;
Whitty Waltzing (in the style of Johann Strauss) by Sofia Gubaidulina, performed by Clíodhna Ryan and Anita Vedres on violin, Kenneth Rice on viola, Malachy Robinson on double bass, Kate Ellis on cello and Dermot Dunne on accordion.
