On today's Mooney,
We hear about the very latest in cool designer accommodation - converted shipping containers! We spend a day in the life of a wheelchair user – how some Dublin students fared when they experienced disability for themselves. And stories to make the heart melt – tell us why YOU might deserve to win our luxury Christmas prize! Entries close tomorrow!
On Tuesday’s programme, Brenda brought to our attention the latest hair craze... Sleeping Rollers.
These rollers are made of a soft Velcro material which allows you get a full night’s sleep while they work their magic on your hair.
The next morning when you wake up and take out the rollers you should have a big bouncy head of hair.
Well, Brenda had decided to road test the Sleeping Rollers for us and today we reveal the result! Gary Kavanagh, Creative Director with Peter Mark Hairdressing, has come in to remove her rollers and give us some tips on how to achieve the soft bouncy look at home!
MyPad Living Containers
The expression “it’s like living in a box” was often heard during the heady days of the Celtic Tiger, when property was vastly over priced and even the tiniest of houses were highly sought after.
But believe it or not, many people all over the world do quite literally, live in boxes. And now containers are now available in Ireland as living spaces - Mooney producer Fergus Sweeney went for a viewing...
The idea behind the My Pad came from Sinead Moore, from Beyond The Hall Door. Fergus went to see the show container in Stepaside in Dublin. For a container which is 20 by 8 feet, the price is €18,000 plus vat (about €22,500). There’s also a larger one, 40ft by 8ft, or you can put 3 or 4 together. For more information about the My Pad, click here: MyPad Colour Brochure.
On Mooney Tunes this time last year, we featured a lovely Christmas song from Emer Barry, a soprano from Longford, harpist Aisling Ennis from Dublin and violinist Mary McCague from Dundalk, known collectively as Celtic Rose. Since then, they've relaunched themselves as Affinití, and they join Derek in studio today for a chat, and a performance...
