IRISH PEACHES - Mike Condon

Irish vegetable gardens may be known for many things: potatoes, cabbage, carrots, apples, berries – but one thing that does not spring to mind is… Peaches!

When you think of peaches you probably think of Mediterranean countries like France, Italy and Spain… but now we can add Limerick to that list!

One Limerick man has successfully grown what he believes to be Ireland’s only peach crop is Mike Condon and he is in our Limerick studio.

If you would like to donate Childrens’ Sports Jerseys to Mike Condon’s India Appeal you can drop them into Limerick Fruit Suppliers beside Musgraves off the Dublin Road in Limerick.

Mooney on Tour
Following the great success of our tour to Letterkenny, the next Mooney on Tour will be from the UCC Granary Theatre on the Mardyke in Cork on October 4th.

Crystal Swing will be performing.

You can get tickets by contacting the programme on mooney@rte.ie

Protecting Plants - Dermot O’Neill
Thousands of euros are spent every year on bedding plants. But every autumn, a huge number of the bedding plants - that you lavished your hard earned money on - end up in the compost heap… often it’s the first frost that does the real damage, and leaves the plants completely burnt and brown.

Dermot is going to tell us about some of the things you can do if you don’t have a green house to keep some of these plants alive until next year.

MOONEY'S MONEY
We congratulate Dympna McGarty from Boyle in Roscommon on winning today's Mooney's Money
