The main and auxiliary transmitters are positioned to provide good signals for the entire area. The transmitter positions are shown on the map below. Your nearest transmitter should give the best signal.
However FM signal strength is influenced by local topography (eg mountains), which means you may need to use an alternative transmitter to get the best reception in your particular area.
Note, good signals may not be available in everywhere without an external aerial.

Your nearest Radio and TV dealer is usually a very good source of advice in local areas.
Please note that later car radios include RDS technology which automatically locks to the best transmitter for a selected service (eg RTÉ1) so manual tuning is not usually required.
