FUMBLING FOR THE LIGHT: THE SONGS OF BRENDAN GRAHAM Twenty years ago Brendan Graham came to prominence with his Eurovision winner Rock n Roll Kids. However his song writing began long before that, and he continues to write hit after hit from The Voice to You, Raise Me Up and many more. Most of his inspiration comes from the rich Mayo landscape he now calls home. In Fumbling for the Light, Graham brings us to Lough Mask, where we hear his songs and their stories.
EUROVISION SONG CONTEST ***SEMI-FINALS*** Live from Copenhagen, Denmark, artists take to the stage on Tuesday 6 and Thursday 8 May to compete for a place in the Grand Final of the 59th annual Eurovision Song Contest.
Rónán Beo @3 The winners of the 2014 Gael Linn Radio Competition will be announced today on the programme.
EUROVISION SONG CONTEST The irreverent duo of Shay Byrne and Zbyszek Zalinski are back to present the Eurovision Song Contest on RTÉ Radio 1. Shay and Zbyszek will be on air with the second semi-final on Thursday, May 8th at 8pm and with the Grand Final on Saturday, 10th May at 8pm. Their Eurovision partnership began in 2011 bringing Ireland and Poland even closer together. Shay and Zbyszek are both fans of Eurovision, but they don't take it (too) seriously. They don't take each other seriously either for that matter. Byrne and Zalinski's Eurovision commentary is a blend of facts and fun while allowing the listeners to make up their mind by enjoying the music, without being distracted by the sequins and the glitter. After all the best pictures are the ones on the radio. Shay and Zbyszek will also be taking over RTE Radio 1's Twitter account for those evenings to join the global Eurovision conversation. As the Eurovision is in Denmark this year, Zalinski and Byrne promised to get their own back on the Vikings.
