Today we hear the second programme in a new summer series about people who work in different professions, as presenter Dónall Mac Ruairí learns what it’s like to spend a day in their lives.  Today, he spends the day with Lorcán Ó Tuathail from the Golden Eagle Trust.  In 1999, the Golden Eagle project started in earnest after many years of planning, with a view to reintroducing the Golden Eagle to Donegal.  Although progress on the project was very slow initially, with many stumbling blocks, Lorcán now feels that there is definite growth in the interest and respect f the Irish population for the eagles.  Dónall talks to Lorcán today about the challenges he has had to overcome in his work, and about developing relationships with farmers and others who live in areas where the eagles are being introduced.  He also speaks to many people who have seen the eagles, and the lasting impression it has left on them.
