Exciting 2011/12 Season for the RTÉ Philharmonic Choir

Their Season begins in the National Concert Hall with a rousing performance of Carl Orff's popular Carmina Burana on Friday October 14, as part of RTÉ's Big Music Week. They will also be joined on-stage by RTÉ Cór na nÓg and conducted by Gerhard Markson.

Two nights of J.S Bach follow in early January with the choir's first ever interpretation of his Christmas Oratorio. Both concerts are at 7.30pm in St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin - parts 1-3 on Friday January 6 and parts 4-6 on Saturday January 7. The Chorus Master for this project will be Mark Hindley and the concert's conductor, Matthew Halls.

Mark Hindley returns immediately to rehearse the RTÉ Philharmonic Choir for a performance of the magnificent Mozart Requiem on Friday January 27 in the National Concert Hall starting at 7.30pm. They will be joined by two Irish soloists, Regina Nathan (soprano) and Paul McNamara (bass) with Anna Stephany (alto) and Alexander Vinogradov (tenor). The RTÉ NSO's Principal Conductor, Alan Buribayev conducts.

Another extraordinary requiem complete's this Season for the Choir, this time by Brahms - A German Requiem, to be performed on Friday April 20 in the NCH at 8pm. The concert will be conducted by acclaimed conductor and scholar Paul McCreesh, and the RTÉ Philharmonic Choir's guest Chorus Master will be Jeremy Haneman.
