Copland's Fanfare for the Common Man, opening a special concert for Haiti, presented by the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and the National Concert Hall.
Enjoy a pre-concert performance with seven trumpets, Hugh Tinney and Finghin Collins in Mozart's Concerto for Two pianos in e flat, Verdi's The Force of Destiny Overture and John Finucane in Mozart's Clarinet Concerto.
Barry Douglas conducts, and also plays Liszt's Rigoletto Paraphrase.
'This is part of Ireland's reaction to a catastrophic humanitarian disaster. The musicians of the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and soloists are performing music which is an affirmation of the resilience of the human spirit, while empathising with the suffering of our fellow man. Music heals and inspires and hopefully this concert will encourage all to give generously.'
Barry Douglas: Conductor and piano
