The RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra is joined by two stunning soloists for an evening of dramatic, beautiful music, ending with a bang!
Limerick-born Mairéad Buicke, one of Ireland's top young sopranos, is the soloist in Barber's Knoxville, singing of that lazy summer of 1915, the swing on the back-porch, the streetcar rattling by.
Then expect fireworks from Tchaikovsky. The wonderful Scottish violin star Nicola Benedetti makes a welcome return to Limerick, joining the RTÉ NSO for the red-blooded romantic virtuosity of his Violin Concerto. To finish, the orchestra takes centre stage for the famous and irresistible 1812 Overture.
Expect fireworks from Tchaikovsky - Scottish violin star Nicola Benedetti in the red-blooded romantic virtuosity of the concerto and the 1812 Overture bringing up the rear. Barber's Knoxville sings of that lazy summer of 1915, the swing on the back-porch, the streetcar rattling by.
