Anthony Andrews as Henry Higgins
A starry cast joins the RTÉ Concert Orchestra for two concert performances of the classic musical My Fair Lady. Anthony Andrews of Brideshead Revisited reprises his hit London role as Professor Higgins, with West End star Annalene Beechey as Eliza Doolittle, the Cockney flowergirl he transforms into a well-spoken young lady, and David Burt as her feckless father. The soloists will perform in costume with a script adapted by Broadway diva Kim Criswell, who plays Mrs Pearce. An added attraction will be the chance to hear all the songs accompanied by the complete original orchestrations, under conductor John Wilson. Read a review of the Gateshead performance here. Friday 13 & Saturday 14 August, National Concert Hall.
