    For the last six years we have been asking people to follow our leaders in Operation Transformation to get to a healthy weight and improve the level of fitness. We believe it’s increasingly difficult to be a normal weight child and adult in Ireland and on behalf of our viewers we would like the government to consider seven simple changes that can make it more likely for the next generation to have a better chance of avoiding Obesity and the damage it has on their bodies and minds.

    Finnish Pancake Tuesday

    Date: 11 Feb 2013

    Finnish Pancake

    1 egg

    50ml of Milk

    1tbsp of all purpose flour

     low calorie sweetener

    Oil to spray

    100g raspberries

     

    How to prepare:

    1. Break one egg in a bowl and add the milk. While whisking add the flour preferably through a sieve as this will avoid lumps.
    2. Add some artificial sweetener if you like sweet pancakes.
    3. Let stand for 15-30min.
    4. Spray a non stick pan with oil and let warm up to medium (apr. to 4 if your hob is maximum 6) and then pour the egg/milk mixture in and let cook until the one side is firm and then flip it over.
    5. Serve with raspberries or with squeezed lemon.

    Serves one Apr. 200kcal.

    The safefood Operation Transformation roadshow, which will visit five locations across the island in January and February. 

    19th January Mahon Point Shopping Centre, Cork
    26th January Crescent Shopping Centre, Limerick
    2nd February Erneside Shopping Centre, Enniskillen
    9th February Whitewater Shopping Centre, Newbridge
    16th February Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, Dublin

    The safefood roadshow will provide practical healthy eating advice, tips on being active and motivation for people looking to kick start their own transformation. The roadshow will visit Cork, Limerick, Enniskillen, Newbridge and Blanchardstown.
