RTÉ Concert Orchestra August evening concerts (Fridays) have just gone on sale. Paul Brady - the man whose anthems have shaped the nation's musical tradition opens August for two nights. Next, Choice Music Prize nominee, composer, orchestrator and songwriter Julie Feeney performs an eagerly anticipated debut with the RTÉ CO. Continuing the popular film screenings with live score, Rodgers & Hammerstein at the Movies is a treat for the all the senses and a must for film music lovers. Jazz fans can look forward to Unforgettable when world-renowned Allan Harris sings Nat 'King' Cole and finally, to round the month off, Andy O'Callaghan conducts a brand new 70s show called DISCO INFERNO! with his Celebration Singers. Michel Legrand recording with RTÉ CO
The legendary French film composer, five-time Grammy winner and triple Oscar winner Michel Legrand has chosen the RTÉ Concert Orchestra to record his latest album. The album, to be recorded in RTÉ Radio Centre and released on Universal, features classic jazz numbers arranged specially by Legrand for his wife, world-renowned harpist Catherine Michel. Legrand chose the RTÉ CO following his two very successful concerts with the orchestra in 2010 and 2012. This will be the latest addition to an increasingly prestigious stable of RTÉ CO recordings, among them Patrick Cassidy's score for Calvary, Brian Byrne's Amos' Wake and Albert Nobbs and the album with Lúnasa.

Bass-baritone Bryn Terfel and jazz vocalist Kurt Elling - both acclaimed worldwide as the best in the business, both performing with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in its Signature Series 2013. The Signature Series showcases the world's finest musicians in classical, jazz, cabaret and more, as well as the RTÉ CO's own stylistic range, vitality and flair. All concerts take place at the National Concert Hall. Great news heading into 2013!
