RTÉ lyric fm presenters join the RTÉ NSO to celebrate some of the station's all-time listener favourites from the worlds of classical music, film and ballet. Programme includes the Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana, Finlandia, music from The Big Country and Laurence of Arabia, the Sabre Dance from Khachaturian's ballet Gayane, Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty Waltz and the Finale from Stravinsky's The Firebird and Sousa's The Washington Post.

AN EVENING WITH THE CHIEFTAINS, THE RTÉ NSO AND GUESTS
Celebrate 'The Gathering' as the 'High Kings' of traditional Irish music, musicians and dancers from Ireland, Scotland, England, Canada and the RTÉ NSO join forces for the very first time. A concert of two halves: the first featuring The Chieftains centre stage with the second seeing these celebrated musicians partnering with the RTÉ NSO and special musical guests for specially arranged numbers including the Anthem (Shenandoah) from The Long Journey Home, Galician Overture, The March to Battle with the City of Limerick Pipe Band, Planxty Mozart and An Dro with its snake dance through the audience!

THE PRESIDENT'S CONCERT WITH THE RTÉ NSO
A concert in honour of the RTÉ NSO's patron, President Michael D. Higgins with a musical celebration showcasing outstanding Irish talent from the fields of classical, traditional and popular music performing with the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra. The young Cork based percussionist Alex Petcu-Colon and the award-winning Aoife MIskelly from Northern Ireland share the stage with traditional Irish fiddle player Zoë Conway and Mercury Prize nominated singer/songwriter Lisa Hannigan for a rich and varied collaboration with the orchestra, conducted by the acclaimed young Irish conductor, Gavin Maloney.
