Venti Eventi
Note by the composer
Venti Eventi was composed in 1978 in Sienna. I picked up the title from Italian radio and as far as I could gather, some strange situation had come about because of a combination of some unlikely events.
It is made up of twenty short segments which are linked by the colouristic device of having the note 'B' held tremolando near the bridge which gives a characteristic, somewhat nasal sound. This, whether in the background or foreground, knits the disparate sections of moderately dissonant interweaving lines, into what I hope will be a palpable, easily perceived unity.
