A rare chance to enjoy the solo beauty of the bassoon in a programme of romantic and lyrical music. The bassoon steps elegantly into the limelight in two showcase works for the instrument: Elgar's sweet, gentle, poetic and singing Romance and Franz Berwald's playful, elegant and warming Konzertstück.
