Expect pretty high-voltage stuff tonight from the opening sweep of Tchaikovsky's 1st piano concert, via poetry and fantasy, to the fireworks and virtuosity of the finale - performed by the brilliant Simon Trpceski.
Adding more heat, a Markevitch ballet close to Gerhard Markson's heart, and the blazing intensity and colour of Stravinsky's Firebird.
