Chloë Hanslip.likely to become the greatest violinist of her generation'
Limelight
This celebrated young violinist plays Mozart's 'Turkish' Concerto, so-called after a boisterous mock-martial episode in the finale.
Messiaen thought birds were 'probably the greatest musicians to inhabit our planet', and the atmospheric Réveil des Oiseaux is full of the sound of their song.
Opening in almost sinister fashion, Ravel's La Valse, a 'fantastic whirl of destiny' blossoms into a silky waltz before dancing itself to its decadent and cataclysmic conclusion.
