President to attend 1916 commemoration

Preparations are under way for next Sunday's commemoration in Dublin to mark the 1916 Easter Rising.

President Mary McAleese and Taoiseach Brian Cowen will take part in the military ceremony outside the GPO at noon.

There will be some traffic disruption in O'Connell Street on Sunday morning and members of the public are asked to be in place by 11.30am.
