The Spanish registered trawler which ran aground in Co Cork overnight has successfully been refloated.

The "Nuevo Ria Aldan", with 11 crew, was attempting to enter Castletownbere Harbour when it ran aground at Naglas Point at around 4.50am.

The crew were taken off by lifeboat.

This afternoon the vessel was successfully refloated on high tide.

It is now moored in the Habour.

There were no immediate signs of damage or of pollution from leaking oil.
