Bus Éireann services have returned to normal following 21 days of strike action in a row over pay and conditions at the company.

The company has advised people to check the Bus Éireann website before travelling, not only for today but also for changes over the Easter weekend.

Unions at the company lifted pickets yesterday evening after the industrial action, following a recommendation from the Labour Court aimed at resolving the dispute over cost-cutting plans.

The court is proposing that 200 staff should be made redundant, as well as pay cuts for higher earners and reforms of work practices.

Unions said members will vote on the proposals and the result will be known in a number of weeks.
