In his closing speech at the Michaela McAreavey murder trial in Mauritius, the prosecuting counsel urged the jury to find the two accused hotel workers guilty.

Mehdi Manrakhan also said that in relation to the victim's husband, John McAreavey, a number of grotesque allegations had been canvassed during the trial.

On Monday lawyers for the two hotel workers accused of murdering the 27-year-old Co Tyrone woman will address the court.

The presiding Supreme Court judge is expected to give his directions to the jury on Thursday next and the members will then retire to begin their deliberations.
