Child Safety in Cars
In September 2006 the EU introduced new child safety protection laws. Among these provisions, all children (generally up to the age of 12) must be placed in an appropriate child restraint when travelling by car.
The Road Safety Authority's 'No Child Car Seat, No Excuse' campaign was launched to highlight the EU guidelines on car seats.
The campaign aims to explain the guidelines to parents in simple terms, encouraging them to ensure their children are properly restrained at all times when travelling in a vehicle and underlining the dangers of not using the correct car seat/booster seat for your child.
The Road Safety Authority set up a website and produced this video to provide information for parents and answer any questions they might have about the EU guidelines.
