The Taoiseach has said he intends to campaign with passion in the days leading to next Friday's ballot.

Speaking in Castlebar, Co Mayo, this afternoon, Enda Kenny said he wanted to make the hairs tingle on the back of people's necks and to fill them with enthusiasm for what he said could be secured for the country.

He said there was a lot at stake in the coming days. Mr Kenny said it was time for people to decide about the future direction of the country.

Earlier he said the highlights during his five years in office had been taking action to address issues faced by Magdalene survivors and last year's same-sex marriage referendum.
