Central Bank issues warning on unauthorised firmFriday 01 August 2014 19.55
The Central Bank has issued a warning about an unauthorised firm offering credit facilities to Irish consumers.
A newspaper advert has been placed by Day-Long Loans and Financial Investment (Ireland) offering credit to customers, however the financial regulator said they are not authorised to do so in the State.
The Central Bank said it was a criminal offence for a company or individual to provide financial services without its authorisation and warned customers about engaging with such an operation.
The regulator maintains a list of unauthorised firms on its website, and advises people to check it regularly to ensure the firms they deal with are operating legally.
