Ryanair said today that its passenger numbers rose by 5% in June as the airline continued its efforts to improve its "customer experience".

The airline said it carried a total of 8.3 million passengers last month, up from the 7.9 million the same month last year.

Its load factor - how many seats are actually filled on each flight - rose from 84% to 88% during the month.
