Peter Thiel has been announced as a speaker at The Summit conference, which is due to take place in Dublin later this year.

Mr Thiel co-founded PayPal in 1998 and has been a prolific investor in other technology companies, including Facebook and the Collison brothers’ Stripe.

He is the latest entrepreneur announced for the event, which takes place over three days in November, alongside Evernote CEO Phil Libin and Tinder founder Sean Rad.

Mr Thiel’s co-founder at PayPal, Max Levchin, is also due to attend the event.
