UPC Ireland subscriptions increase by 7% for quarter one

Cable television, phone and internet provider UPC Ireland has announced an increase of 71,400 in total subscriptions for its first quarter. 

It also saw a 10% increase in broadband subscribers during the same period.

Results published today by UPC Ireland show it now has 348,300 broadband subscribers.

The number of UPC phone subscribers was up 23% compared to the same period last year but its cable TV subscriber numbers were virtually unchanged.

"We have made a great start to the year driven by steady demand for our fibre power services and the launch of several innovative new products," said Carol Grennan, CFO of UPC Ireland.

The new Horizon TV service offered by UPC Ireland has attracted over 75,000 subscribers.

During quarter one, UPC Ireland also launched the Horizon Phone App, Horizon Wi-Free service and the Horizon TV App for Android.
