EMC revenues up 2% on increased demand for higher data storage capacityThursday 24 April 2014 12.26
Information storage specialist EMC reported a 2% rise in quarterly revenue driven by demand from customers for larger data centres.
EMC, which employs over 3,000 people in Ireland, generated $5.5 billion in revenue over the three months to the end of March.
The company's net income over the period was $392m, down from $580m in the same period last year but in line with analysts' expectations.
In a statement, EMC's country manager for Ireland Gerry Murray said it was experiencing strong demand here. EMC exports to over 140 countries from Ireland. It counts Irish companies Tullow Oil, United Drug and Eircom among its customers.
