Keohane Seafoods wins overall SFA award

Keohane Seafoods last night emerged as the overall winner in the Small Business Awards run by the Small Firms Association.

Keohane Seafoods is a Cork based family run business which became the first company in Europe to produce a microwavable skin filmed frozen seafood range.

The company has a workforce of 45 and supply all the major retail outlets in Ireland. They recently secured a deal with Tesco UK. 

The presentation of the awards was made by the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, Eamon Gilmore at the Awards Ceremony in Trinity College. This is the tenth year of the SFA National Small Business Awards.

"It is these award winning small businesses and others from all over Ireland that will generate the growth needed to create jobs, overcome our debt burden and deliver the prosperity, and quality of life that this country can legitimately aspire to," commented the SFA Chairman AJ Noonan. 

Other winners last night included Laois Sawmills, Tour America from Dublin, Monaghan Music & Piano Centre, Critical Healthcare from Co Westmeath, Ryans Cleaning Event Specialists from Tipperary and Clevamama from Dublin.
