Central Bank issues warning about two unauthorised firmsThursday 13 February 2014 12.18
The Central Bank has issued a warning about two firms, which it says have been operating in the country without authorisation.
The authority said the companies – Asia Loan Financial Service (India) and Golden Star Financial Service (USA) - are not authorised retail credit firms.
The Central Bank notes that it is a criminal offence to provide financial services in the State without its approval and that customers of such firms would not be eligible for compensation funds in the event of a problem.
The Central Bank issues regular warnings about unauthorised firms and maintains a list of such companies on its website.
People with information relating to potentially unauthorised firms are also asked to contact them.
