Irish financial services group Fexco is to open 20 new foreign exchange outlets across the UK between now and the end of the year.

Kerry-based Fexco already has 17 No. 1 Currency outlets in the UK. The planned expansion will increase that number to 37. Fexco said this will result in 80 new jobs being created.

In a statement on the expansion Fexco's director of foreign exchange services Joe Redmond said Britain was the world's most attractive market for retail currency exchange services.

He said Fexco was hoping to grow market share and win new business by offering services such as "click-and-collect" where customers order foreign exchange online and then pick it up either from a No. 1 Currency outlet or one of Fexco's UK-based agents.
