Cloud computing firm EMC has reported revenues above $23 billion for 2013, a 7% increase on the previous year.

The company said the increase was fuelled by a strong performance Pivotal division, as well as its virtiualisation platform VMware.

EMC said net income for the year was $2.9 billion – up 6% year on year.

The company, which is headquartered in Massachusetts in the US, employs around 3,000 people at a Centre of Excellence in Co Cork.

Its full-year growth comes after a strong end to the year, which saw its revenues rise by 11% in the fourth quarter to $6.7 billion.
