Monaghan Mushrooms has announced the creation of 20 jobs for graduates.

The company, which is Europe's biggest producer of mushrooms, operates in six countries and has a workforce of over 3,500, including 900 in Ireland.

It first launched its one year graduate programme in 2011.

It it has since developed it to become a two year programme which offers career progression to graduate employees across a range of sectors.

These include agricultural science, agribusiness management, distribution, data analysis, food, engineering, marketing and research and development.

"This is an Irish company which already operates in six countries and whose ambitions are truly global, investing in its management capability and ensuring that it will have the capacity to deliver on those ambitions,'" commented the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton.

The company's chief operating officer Paul Wilson said the programme will present graduate employees with the chance to be "fast-tracked" within a growing business.
