The gap between average asking prices for homes in Dublin and the rest of the country continues to widen, according to the latest property barometer from Myhome.ie.
 
The average asking price in Dublin is now 28% higher than the average across the rest of the country, compared to a 17% difference a year ago.

During 2013, the average asking price in Dublin rose 2.4% to just under €242,000.

Excluding Dublin the national average fell 5.9% to €189,000.

Supply of property is mentioned by Myhome.ie as an issue, as it has been in a number of similar reports recently. 

The property site estimates the available supply of homes for sale in capital has fallen by 30% over the past year.
