Paddy Power's expansion continues with the news that the bookie chain has bought nine outlets from Hackett's Bookmakers.

The nine shops are located in Dublin (four shops), Limerick (two shops), Templemore and Clonmel in Co Tipperary and Tullamore in Co Offaly.

The shops will be rebranded and refit as Paddy Power after completion of the deal early in 2014.

Paddy Power will now operate a total of 232 shops in the Republic of Ireland.

"We are delighted that, as we celebrate 25 years in business, we are continuing to add new shops to our estate and to bring the Paddy Power value and customer experience to more punters across Ireland," a company spokesman said.
