Icon acquires US-based healthcare company for $52mMonday 04 February 2013 12.23
Icon, a Dublin-based company which conducts clinical trials for the pharmaceutical and medical devices industries, has acquired US-based healthcare company in a deal valued at $52m.
Icon will pay $52m in cash to buy the Clinical Trial Services Division of Cross Country Healthcare.
Cross Country Healthcare provides contract staffing to healthcare companies. As part of the deal Icon will also take over a division of the firm which provides drug safety services in the US and EU.
Icon was founded in Dublin in 1990. It now employs more than 9,000 staff worldwide conducting clinical trials and providing outsourced services to the drug and medical devices industries.
