Official figure show that euro zone annual inflation eased to 2.6% in January.

The rate represented a slight downward revision from the initial 2.7% estimate from the EU's statistics body Eurostat.

The figure marks the 14th month running for which inflation was above the European Central Bank's target of below or close to 2%, having peaked at 3% in September.
