More than 100 jobs have been announced at two companies in Limerick and Dublin.
Software development company Misys is setting up a new research and development team in Dublin, creating 35 new jobs.
Misys develops software for the financial services industry and already employs over 100 people in Dublin at two software development centres - Misys International Banking and Sophis Technology.
The company said 25 of the jobs are for software engineers and ten are in consultancy roles.
Almost 70 jobs are being created at ON Semiconductor as the firm plans to invest €13m in its design centre in Limerick.
The R&D jobs are for work on a project that wants to make more power-efficient solutions for use in computing and consumer applications.
