142 jobs have been lost in Clonmel with the announcement by the electrical group JRE Group that it is to cease trading.
In a statement, the company blamed its closure on adverse trading conditions in the construction business.
The company was involved in providing electrical, mechanical, instrumentation and maintenance services to a number of clients nationwide and had regional offices in Dublin and in Cork.
At its peak the company employed over 200 people, but the number of people employed had reduced in recent years.
JRE Group had a projected turnover of €20m in 2011.
In a statement issued this afternoon, the directors thanked their staff, their customers and suppliers over the last 16 years.
