More than 300 new jobs are to be created at an outsourcing firm in Belfast. The positions will be created at Capita over the next four years.

About 130 people are currently employed at Capita's life and pensions division at Clarendon Dock in Belfast.

The company provides back office administration and customer contact services to a number of companies across Ireland and the UK.

This afternoon, Northern Ireland Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster announced the creation of 336 new jobs at the Belfast site. The roles include management and supervisory positions.

The company said the competitive cost base in Northern Ireland and the availability of suitable staff had contributed to its decision to expand its Belfast operation. The expansion is being supported by Invest Northern Ireland.
