25 jobs are to be created in Athlone, Co Westmeath by software technology firm SolanoTech.

The company announced today that recruitment for the software design and development engineer positions was underway.

‘These job opportunities are being generated mainly in the design services area and the driver is the continued success of mobile broadband for our customer base,’ said John Mee, CEO of SolanoTech.

‘Athlone is a natural location for SolanoTech as there is a long history of telecom systems and software development in the area complemented by the presence of international firms, local indigenous companies and the AIT software research institute all operating in the sector’.

SolanoTech operates from a base in the Midlands innovation research centre in Athlone Institute of Technology. The company is a client of Enterprise Ireland.
