French car maker PSA Peugeot Citroen has reported a surge in net profits of more than 60% to €492m in the first half of 2007 compared with a year earlier.
Sales rose 5.9% during the period to €30.8 billion. Sales in its car division alone were up 5% at €24.2 billion.
The company attributed the growth to higher sales, higher prices and an 'improvement in the product mix'.
