The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) has announced the signing of a five-year community sound broadcasting contract with Liffey Sound FM.
Liffey Sound FM will broadcast initially for 23 hours per week on weekends only, and will extend their service provision to weekday evenings by October.
The station aims to provide the Lucan community with a broad range of programmes on issues of interest.
Conor J. Maguire, Chairperson of the BCI, said the service will ensure, through its volunteer structure, the involvement of the wider community in its service delivery.
