Meteor names new chief executiveFriday 26 January 2007 21.03
Robert Haulbrook as been named as chief executive of Meteor Mobile Communications.
He replaces acting CEO Stewart Sherriff who will have an expanded role as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Meteor's parent Western Wireless International.
The company also announced today that Andrew Kelly, currently Director of Regulatory and Corporate Affairs in Meteor, has joined Western Wireless and has been appointed as Director of Public Policy.
Mr Haulbrook joins Meteor from Centennial de Puerto Rico. He has 20 years experience in telecoms.
The President of Western Wireless International and Chairman of Meteor, Brad Horwitz, welcomed the appointments as being a clear indication of WWI's commitment to its European operations.
Meteor has now built out its network to cover 90% of the population and has recently signed a national roaming agreement with O2 Ireland that will give Meteor customers national coverage from September.
