Nolan confirmed as new Eircom chiefFriday 26 January 2007 21.32
Eircom has confirmed that Dr Philip Nolan will take over as chief executive from January 2, following Friday's announcement that Alfie Kane was stepping down following the takeover of the company by Valentia.
Dr Nolan is leaving his job as chief executive of British gas distributor Lattice to take up the Eircom post.
Eircom and Valentia chairman Dr Tony O'Reilly said Dr Nolan had a wealth of experience in providing a range of utility services, which included the telecommunications sector.
The 48-year-old was born in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh, and joined British Gas in 1996. Lattice was formed from a demerger of British Gas last year and operates its pipeline network.
