Ten people, aged between 14 and 19, have been arrested as part of an investigation into a number of robberies and assaults in Dublin.

A number of searches were carried out in Dublin and Louth early this morning as part of a garda investigation into a number of robberies and assaults that took place in the Dublin 2 area over the summer.

Those arrested today are being held at Pearse Street, Kevin Street, Kilmainham, Terenure, Sundrive Road, Irishtown, Mountjoy and Store Street garda stations.

All can be detained for a maximum period of 24 hours.

A total of 70 gardaí from several garda stations in the capital took part in the operation.
