Former RTÉ broadcaster Pat Kenny is set to join UTV Ireland to present a new programme starting in 2015.
The announcement was made today as the station announced its planned programming.
"It is early days in terms of the details of the output, but I'm energised by the team at UTV Ireland and the prospect of working with talented young people, allied to some very experienced and wise colleagues," he said.
The broadcaster also announced it will air a nightly 60-minute news and current affairs programme with debate on topical issues along with a 30-minute round-up of news.
The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland signed a television content provision contract with UTV Ireland in February.
The channel has the exclusive broadcasting rights for ITV Studios programmes for the Republic of Ireland audience, including popular soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale from 2015.
