The details of the ninth annual Culture Night to take place on Friday 19 September have been announced.

Culture Night will see events held in over 900 venues in 36 regions, towns and cities around Ireland.

All events are free, with each region aiming to showcase the very best of its cultural talents and creativity at a variety of venues including museums, galleries and government buildings.

Last year's event attracted record crowds, with an estimated 350,000 people attending a wide range of  Culture Night events.

Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Heather Humphreys said Culture Night is a fantastic chance for members of the public to enjoy unique performances and catch a glimpse inside some of Ireland's most beautiful buildings and cultural institutions.
